My work in computer graphics stretches back to the heyday of the Radioshack TRS-80. This machine, for those who are not well-versed in computer history, had thumbnail-sized pixels and less computing power than a modern-day digital thermometer. There was, however, something very appealing about creating artwork on a computer screen and this interest lead to graphics jobs of all sorts: informational graphics for newspapers, 3D graphics for the video game industry, website design, and application development.
Applications
Much of my digital illustration work utilizes vector graphics from such programs as Adobe Illustrator, Flash, or Inkscape due to their multipurpose nature. The same image can be reduced to postage stamp size or blown up to billboard proportions without loss of resolution. I'm also a long-time Photoshop user and have spent countless hours in 3D applications such as 3D Studio and Blender.
